

The starters did basically everything for Toledo. If any number of Toledo's starters get in foul trouble early, they could be hurting if the bench isn't able to come in and contribute. Justin Drummond was the only one in foul trouble, but when the starters needed a rest nothing came from the bench. Toledo only had five bench points between four players, and of those four players only one even attempted a field goal.

While there weren't a lot of missed shots to gobble up, Detroit did a better job of it and it led to more scoring opportunities.Ī major issue for the Rockets was the bench play. The Titans outrebounded Toledo 29-20 and limited the Rockets to only two offensive rebounds. Where Detroit really won the game was on the block.

The Titans finished with a 53% field goal percentage and an incredible 94% mark from the free throw line. Shooting 56% from the floor and 86% from the free throw line usually results in a win, but Detroit matched them in every category. While Toledo played a pretty good overall game, it wasn't enough in the end. Howard helped the Titans score a high-scoring 83-79 win over the Rockets, which snapped Toledo's 18-game home winning streak.
